1. What is PPMS?

PPMS is Phy-Med Practice Management System, this system incorporates all of Phy-Med’s services. PPMS is not one set of services, the services are tailored to fit your needs.

2. What is an electronic medical record system?

An electronic medical record system takes place of conventional paper records to increase the efficiency in your healthcare facility.

3. Do I need to know a lot about computers to use the PPMS-CPS?

No. The basic understanding of computers and Internet is sufficient to use our system.

4. I am a solo-practitioner; will Phy-Med benefit me?

Yes. Whether you're one doctor or apart of a group-practice you can benefit by increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

5. My practice is growing quickly, will Phy-Med allow for this expansion?

Yes, PPMS’s open-ended design saves you time and money. Our provider defined solutions allow for expansion and modification as your needs grow and change.

6. How secure are my patients' records?

We use state of the art facilities TERREMARK. For more technical information you may visit Verizon's TerreMark website for Miami facility.

7. What is a pen-based computer and what are the advantages of using it?

A pen-based computer is a fully functional computer that uses a pen and touch screen in place of a keyboard and mouse.

8. Will PPMS- EMR programs work with my PDA?

Yes, most PPMS- EMR programs will work with your PDA, please contact us for specifics.

9. Will I be able to access my patient information remotely from my PDA when I am at the hospital etc…?

Yes. As long as you have the proper wireless equipment for your PDA and access to the Internet.

10. How secure is my patient information while being accessed remotely from the PDA?

That depends on the level of security in place on your internal network.

11. How do I convert my existing paper documents into EMR?

You can convert your existing paper documents into EMR through one of the PPMS –EMR programs, for example D-Chart. The most efficient way is to scan in your “historical data” into one of the PPMS-EMR programs.

12. How often will Phy-Med perform updates to my software?

Software and database updates are done automatically every time there is an update.

13. Is hiring a technical staff required when using a PPMS-CPS?

No, most practices do not need a dedicated technological person, but do need a designated contact.

14. What system requirements are needed to use PPMS Online?

PC or MAC. Plase contact our IT department for further information.
